If your Filter Queen has been used for extreme cleaning like remodeling homes or excessive dust conditions this kit should be purchased. Since starting with the model 31 in 1960 through the model 95 in 1993 (Yes your machine is that old, but running strong) the kit should also be purchased. Machines this age tend to have deteriorated gaskets or clogged filters depriving the Filter Queen from operating at maximum efficiency.
Designed for maintenance on Filter Queens models:
92 (Princess canisters only)
The early model 31s & 33s did have the option for the power head model 48 or 88. The Princess II, III, Empress and Optima used the 48 model power head. This kit can still use the gaskets for the power nozzle.
This kit could be used on models up through:
The only part that would not be useable in this kit is the scent pad. They attach differently.
Enclosed in this tune-up kit are then following parts:
Many of the power nozzles out there still have the older style brush assembly where the bearing separate from the brush. Where the bearing meets the brush are washers and a felt washer in the bearing case. Caution needs to be taken when disassembling the brush. If washers are needed they are on our site.
Another thing is the silencing batt. This filter also catches the carbon dust from the motor brushes. The motor exhaust blows through it and it gets very dirty and does get blocked up making your machine run a little hotter.
To purchase all of these parts separately would cost over $30.00 and many vac shops will not have all of these parts.
Maintenance on the Filter Queen is not difficult, but if you are not a natural on equipment upkeep just watch how the Filter Queen comes apart. Focus and undivided attention will get your machine running in about 45 minutes.
